Description

As anyone who has spent time around Silicon Valley knows, computer science has had an enormous commercial impact in recent years. In the rush of excitement around startup companies and state-of-the-art technologies, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that computer science has a significant intellectual tradition in spite of its short history. This course will introduce students to several of the most interesting and challenging problems in computer science. Those problems are drawn from a range of topic areas including the analysis of algorithms, computability, cryptography, artificial intelligence, and software engineering.
